What to expect from a reflexology treatment

On your first visit, I will take a brief, confidential medical history. You will be seated in a reclining chair or couch, shoes and socks will be removed.

I will then massage all areas of the feet, as these areas correspond to parts of the body. Clients occasionally feel areas of mild discomfort during the treatment but, generally, the experience is relaxing.

Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to each client's needs so that the “whole person” is being treated, taking in to account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting your well-being.

Some clients chat, some fall asleep. I have been seeing some people for several years but see some people for shorter periods. It may or may not work for you, but the best way to find out is to try it.

After one or two treatments, your body may respond in a very noticeable way. Most people note a sense of well-being and relaxation, sometimes people report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful but this is usually transitory and Reflexologists believe that it is part of the healing process.

Everyone can receive Reflexology. However, there are a few conditions where it is best either to check with a doctor or reflexologist first, so please do let me know prior to booking if there is anything you think I should know.

Client testimonial

I suffer from IBS and seek treatment from Ali to alleviate the symptoms when I experience a flare up. The treatment provides almost instant relief. When I have regular treatments I find that my periods are more regular and lighter too so I would recommend a series of treatments.
